There are several important things which we have to be more considering about creating a blog or a website. Building a weblog or a website should have a composition such as salience and framing (Kress & van Leeuwen 2006). Salience is the element of layout which it will attract the reader’s attention, while framing is a device such as white spaces between elements to make harmony among design layout. To achieve a good layout of the text, we should consider the text as a visual gestalt and focus on the reader’s perspective Bernhardt, S.A (1986).
(Nielsen 2000) points out that, one of the most important things to maintain a good weblog is displaying the proper images. It will increase the visual understanding of the reader. On the other hand, (Walsh 2006) points out that, text are multimodal and playing an important role in designing a document. This is because; multimodal texts are holding different modes and method which writings carrying a different set of meaning and images carry another.
The materials such as texts, images or videos which we use for blogs must be designed for specific audience or in another word the audience must be able to understand the content (Schriver, K.A. 1997 p.373).
In short, through my first experience in blogging, I think weblog has influenced every one’s life. Creating a blogs can be useful if we use right information and audience.
