Twitter and politics

The effects of Twittering have found successfully their away. Many politicians have used it to share their views and it spread away into the hearts and mind of the political pundits, reporters and society.

President Obama quite successfully maneuvered the social networking through social media such as Twitter and with it help, he won the presidency. He was able to gather large, massive followers, much of which is still growing even until today. He has used these platforms to further his agenda and to share his political message. Since what he has done with these platforms is such a success, many other politicians are taking note of it and using it for their own purposes.

In our country, many politicians use that social media especially Twitter to represent themselves and build a relationship between them and society. One of them is Mr. Tifatul Sembiring, minister of Communication and Information Technology. He has an account Twitter named @tifsembiring and tweets regularly to spread an information about what happened in this country, global issues, his thought including poems and limericks that he made himself and many else.

Politicians must learn to go where society are. They can use Twitter too to check what society want. If the society want to hear the issues and their take on them, they should deliver it to them in a format that they can readily accept and understand. The world has rapidly moved toward technology and there is absolutely no slowing down in terms of technology, new developments and speed.

One thing for sure that social networking works and it works really well. People are doing more than connecting and Tweeting on their sites. They’re reading and opinion-forming and debating and asking questions.

Senator-turned-United-States-President-Barack-Obama did and so can you guys =)
